September 3rd, 2008This sporting course at the very heart of Moorea is a real delight for sportspersons who are not afraid of sweating. The difficulties of the course are offset by the natural magnificence found in the deepest parts of the island.
Objectives of this raid :
- Promote eco-tourism;
- Develop sport-tourism;
- Organise a popular and festive event;
- Get the population of Moorea and its partners involved;
- Propose a mountain run in the schedule of the major events of the island.
Painapo Raid includes highly diversified mountain courses in dense forests full of sweet odours. By crossing streams, paths and fruit plantations, the Raid unveils all the riches of our island in a “deep nature” atmosphere, with panoramic views.
The many steep slopes (more than 400 metres in altitude difference) make this course a very challenging one. It can be run either individually or in teams.
